Property Details

This well-maintained livestock farm is situated in the arid agricultural area between Groblershoop, Kenhardt, and Upington, within the heart of the Northern Cape’s renowned extensive grazing region. Farming in this area is traditionally focused on livestock production, well adapted to the harsh climatic conditions. Away from the Orange River’s irrigated zones, the landscape consists of semi-arid rangeland where sheep farming, particularly Dorper and Meatmaster, forms the backbone of agricultural activity. Goats and limited beef cattle are also successfully farmed depending on seasonal grazing conditions.

The property comprises two adjoining portions sold as one going concern, with a total extent of approximately 6,514 hectares. The farm offers a good grazing capacity, with most of the land rated at an LSU of 1:28, and a smaller north-western portion at 1:32, reflecting slightly harder, rockier veld. The farm is subdivided into 18 well-planned and manageable camps, most of which have reliable water access, allowing for effective grazing management.

Water is supplied by three equipped boreholes of approximately 30 metres deep, fitted with solar pumps. Water is stored in dams and plastic tanks and distributed across the farm via a network of plastic piping. An additional two boreholes are present but not currently in use, one of which is no longer operational. This infrastructure supports sustainable livestock farming in an area of low and variable rainfall.

The farm is well fenced, with quality internal and boundary fencing in good condition. There are six well-built sheep handling and loading facilities (krale), constructed neatly and robustly with piping and wire. The perimeter fencing is largely jackal-proof on three sides, with the remaining side stock-proof. Two boundaries are further supported by electrified fencing from neighbouring farms, enhancing predator control. An Eskom servitude line runs across a portion of the property.

Vegetation across the farm is in good condition and well suited to the area, consisting of a mix of grasses, shrubs, and succulents. The land cover is predominantly grassland and shrubland, with vegetation maps indicating mainly Bushmanland Arid Grassland, as well as a small portion of Gordonia Duneveld in the south-eastern area. Rainfall averages approximately 170–200 mm per annum, and the veld condition supports productive and sustainable livestock farming.

The homestead includes a two-bedroom house, with an additional room that can be used as a third bedroom or living area. The house also offers a kitchen, bathroom, dining room, and living room. Some renovations needed on the house's interior and outside. Outbuildings include a large shed (9 m x 14 m), a garage, and storerooms, as well as one workers’ accommodation unit. (The house needs renovations)

Conclusion
This is a well-kept inner farm, currently accessed through a neighbouring property, and remains in an ongoing process of improvement and infrastructure development. With its solid water supply, good fencing, functional handling facilities, and healthy veld, the farm is ideally suited for extensive livestock production. It presents an excellent opportunity for buyers looking to expand existing operations or establish a new venture in the Boesmanland/Karoo “Bulte” region, an area known for resilience, adaptability, and sound farming tradition.
